A huge thank-you to DeviantArt for reviewing my complaint and taking down the drawings that my art thief had stolen. The art thief has indicated that she will not be using the site any longer.
http://aat-club.deviantart.com/ has some good ideas about how legit artists can protect their work. In particular, don't delete anything from your gallery - put it in the scrapbook. It's not only the really good art that gets stolen - I wasn't happy with the balance/composition of the drawings that were stolen from me, so I had removed them from my galleries. My name is Sarah S. I am a student in undergraduate school at a Midwest university. I study telecommunications and creative writing, and someday I hope to make a living writing and directing feature films.
I am in the middle of creating my personal website and solidifying my professional identity. I have taken a real interest in one of your Phoenix tattoo designs (The top left in the batch of six). I want very much for this to essentially become my logo/crest (with the alteration of some text above/below it). I think it is a beautiful image and the phoenix has always been my sort of symbol. In my head I would like to be able to use your phoenix on my website as my logo, as well as on my resume, letterhead, and business cards etc.
I have no earthly idea about image rights and the legality of owning/buying images, perhaps you do? I honestly don't have a lot of money to buy the graphic from you, and I am certainly not looking for a hand out, but I wanted to see what you knew about its copyright and ownership/licensing.
